Hi! I hope you’re keeping well and hanging in there.

February 2021 is hopefully seeing a few days of sun here at Kilmichael after so many days and nights of icy wind and rain blowing in off the sea. Dougal and I have been doing our thing and I’ve been working on plenty of new music.

Including co-writing a bunch of exciting new songs with Tony Floyd Kenna, singer songwriter and lyricist extraordinaire from Dublin town. The first fruits have been getting aired to enthusiastic response in the Live From Kilmichael livestreams. Hoping to record them later in the year!

Also, my good friend Gwendolyn Countryman from the midwestern US has made a stunning and evocative video to accompany my recording of the Billy Bragg song “Between The Wars”, from the new album.

Gwendolyn used moving and beautiful images from her family archive photo collection to assemble a wonderful companion piece to the song which broadens the story while fitting seamlessly with the narrative.
