A favourite folk ballad of mine, recorded at home in County Wexford. There are many great versions of this song out there (my two faves must be Sean Cannon/Dubliners and Pam Ayres).
A wee Northumbrian maritime folk song, first published in ‘North Countrie Ballads, Songs and Pipe-Tunes’ in 1922.
